Sully was previously adopted from our organization in 2023 but due to certain circumstances we've taken him back in. He is currently living in a foster home on a farm enjoying the great outdoors, activities and farm animals. When he was first surrendered to us those owners did not have enough time to spend with him. He was contained to a crate for long periods of time and they felt it was in his best interest to give him up. Respect the dog! At that time we suspected a food allergy likely from eating low quality food which had caused some itching and skin flaking. With a change in diet to high quality food he is doing great!
He would do best with an experienced Doberman owner given he displays all the typical traits of the breed. At 90# he can be a handful to walk given how strong he especially when distracted (squirrels, etc.). He knows his basic commands. He is clingy and prefers to be by the side of his human companion.
Sully loves to play with other dogs, just not as rough as some. Does great with other dogs male or female. He's just a very loving friendly boy. Sully would do great in a home with or without other dogs, probably better with, but just as long as there is someone there to give him the attention he so wants.

Foster Home Report:
Sully is an amazing dog. He is housetrained, not a fan of cats but doing well with the farm animals. He likes to carry around his chosen person's belongings but he will not destroy items. He enjoys swimming and could easily be trained off-lead after settling into his (hopeful) final place to call home. He can be vocal at times -- you'll never feel alone living with a Doberman. For the most part, he's a couch potato enjoying the quiet rural life and sleeping most of his day away. |
