Adopted!
September 10, 2025
LADYLady is a 5 year old pure bred Doberman Pinscher. She was surrendered by her owner along with her 10 month old daughter Coco who we are also taking care of and finding a home for. Lady arrived at Secondhand Mutts after a committed foster home was secured to take care of her and her eight puppies.
Our foster providers John and Charlotte quickly went into action to set up a safe space for Lady and her family to arrive where she could have some peace and quiet while caring for her young pups. The two day old puppies arrived with mom and took to their extra, extra large kennel and welping box where she has been feeding and cleaning them in between snoozes. Our primary focus at the moment is to insure a healthy upbringing for her puppies while providing Lady with all the nutrients, positive reinforcement and love a mom deserves. We know this is not her first rodeo at motherhood but we will make sure she knows all of her puppies will be properly place in loving homes as will she and this will be her last time breeding. Coco tested positive for Lyme's Disease in mid-August and is currently being treated with medicine. Her expenses related to Lyme/s will be covered by Secondhand Mutts. during her first year after she is adopted. We anticipate a full recovery. Lady has a soft personality, all the wonderful traits of the Doberman Pinscher breed and will make an excellent addition to a new home. When her puppies are ready to be on their way and we have selected appropriate homes for each she will be ready to rest and enjoy her new life. If you are interested in adopting Lady please fill out the online adoption application. One of our volunteers will be in touch with an update. |

Foster Home Report:
It's been a whirlwind adventure taking care of Lady and her 8 puppies. Overall, she has adjusted well and we are all doing our best to keep up with the puppies as well as our own 5 dogs at home. We make sure Lady gets some free time from mothering, lots of TLC and praise. She is eating well to keep up with feeding eight hungry bundles of love.
The puppies are growing fast. There are 4 boys and 4 girls who will be looking for wonderful homes in the coming weeks. Check back toward the end of July to learn more about and meet the Great Eight!
