WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR IVY
Ivy is an exceptional female Doberman Pinscher. She is just over a year old and was unexpectedly surrendered to a local shelter to no fault of her own. Her previous owner acquired her through an AKC registered breeder and worked with a trainer specializing in mobility training to be a service dog due to an unfortunate health diagnosis. Ivy has stood by her owner since she was a puppy proving to be a loyal companion who loves to please and enjoys working.
Ivy's owner's health quickly declined and due to a lack of resources was forced into surrendering her to the shelter closest to their home. Thankfully the staff at the county humane society understood the human/dog bond the two had and reassured her owner they would do whatever possible to insure she landed in the right place. The county shelter has open adoptions as well as networking capabilities to transfer dogs to smaller rescues like ours and reached out to us. Fortunately, we had an opening and tons of empathy for the situation and we were able to take her in and stay in touch with Ivy's previous owner.

Ivy needed some time to decompress from all of the changes as she was living a quiet lifestyle but has adjusted well during her time in a foster home. She is currently living with 5+ dogs, mostly Doberman's and enjoying the company and structure. She is good in her kennel, she is house trained, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and ready to find a home to relax in. She is a working breed, enjoys a job and trained to work.
She is NOT CAT FRIENDLY and exhibits prey/focus/drive when exposed to a cat therefore we will not make any exceptions placing her in a home with cats. We prefer her to be placed in a rural or quiet home environment as she can get startled by loud city noises. We are looking for someone to continue with her training and provide her with plenty of excercise and continue her socialization with dogs.
