DUKEDuke is about 3 1/2 yrs. old red male Doberman Pinscher. Duke was surrendered due to his owner passing away. Duke went through a short time of depression being he was pulled away from the only life he has ever known. He was taken in by our foster providers John and Charlotte and treated as if he was one of their own dogs while he decompressed from the transition he was facing.
Duke went to work with his previous owner every day, is owner worked in a garage where there was people and children in and out every day, he was staying in the garage with another male dog and they were getting along great, they were best friends. They went home at night with his owner, until the day his owner passed away, and after that, him and the other dog just stayed in the garage. The only real issue about being in the garage was that at night the 2 dogs would be left alone until the next morning. That wasn't really that bad until the other dog that was with Duke ended up with a new home. The owner of the garage thought about adopting Duke but having 4 large dogs of his own they thought it best for all to just find Duke a new home. Read more about him below in the foster report.

Foster Home Report:
Duke mostly laid around and didn't want to eat or even go potty after he lost his home until it was an absolute necessity. But after a couple weeks he started coming around and started interacting with the other dogs around him and is doing just great. Duke is a very cuddly boy that loves to be around his people and other dogs, he has met cats and really seems uninterested but would still need to be fully cat tested.
After Duke got over his shock of losing his home, he settled in and is doing great, he loves to play with the other 5 dogs in the home, even 2 males that he gets along with great. he walks very nicely on a training lead. Duke loves walks and loves going to stores that are dog friendly. He goes out to potty only accidents that he has had has been from when he first got to his foster home and confusion and nerves played a big role in that. He rides nicely in the car, just loves to go places, he knows sit, down gives paw and has a nice recall. He is crate trained and will go into his crate when asked, but he doesn't want to stay in there all day, he will complain, I really think he would do fine without being crated, but that would need some patients to find out for sure. He would love to find a new playmate of a compatible size and energy level, which he is pretty much a medium on the energy scale. Duke is a very nice pup and will do well in a home that can pay him loads of attention and love, Duke was very much loved by his previous owner, and we are getting very attached to him here at his foster home. Duke is a very good boy.
